icons of the Guardian Angel. An Icon is meant to "teach". This icon is a perfect example. The guardian angel as our "guide" looks directly at us into our heart and soul. The angel in its right hand presents us with the "cross" through which we are freed from sin and our souls are saved. As our "guardian" Its left hand grasps a "sword" ready to defend us from temptation and evils. The icon frame is a leaf motif representing the presence of the Holy Spirit.
