Is an archangel a god? No. Angels are created beings. They are honored as faithful servants and messengers of God but are never worshiped.

Why is Gabriel associated with the Theotokos? Gabriel announces to the Virgin Mary that she will bear Jesus Christ, making him central to the iconography of the Annunciation.
