The phrase incorrupt relics refers to unusual preservation of the body, or portions of the body, of a departed Christian regarded as holy.
Must a saint's body be incorrupt? No. Physical incorruption is not a universal condition of sainthood.
Does preservation automatically prove sainthood? No. Bodies can be preserved for natural, environmental, or human reasons. Orthodox discernment cannot responsibly be reduced to physical condition alone.
