Theosis, often translated as deification, is a central Orthodox way of describing salvation as growing participation in the life of God by grace.
Does theosis mean becoming God by nature? No. The distinction between Creator and creature is never erased.
Is theosis only for monks or saints? No. It describes the goal of Christian life, although its fullness is seen especially clearly in the saints.
For the wider context, see How Does the Orthodox Church Understand Salvation?.
