Why are abbreviations used?
Names and titles are often shortened according to Greek, Church Slavonic, or another liturgical language.
Why can the same saint's name look different?
Greek, English, Ukrainian, Church Slavonic, Romanian, Serbian, Arabic, and other languages may spell or transliterate the same name differently.
Do inscriptions help identify saints?
