Traditional Orthodox Baptism uses three immersions in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Why three times?
The threefold action explicitly confesses the Holy Trinity and gives bodily form to the biblical image of being buried and raised with Christ.
Does every Baptism look identical?
The normative liturgical form is immersion, but health or practical necessity can affect how water is applied.
